Before anything, let’s see what the substitutes for a vegan cake are. A vegan cake should have no animal products, so this means no milk, no butter, no cream, or any other dairy. This also goes for ingredients such as honey and eggs. So what are their substitutes? Let’s have a look below:

- Butter –> Margarine
- Honey –> Maple syrup, Sugar / Stevia

Gluten-free cakes
Gluten is mainly found in wheat, which is obviously in a cake’s main ingredient, flour. To substitute this, we use oat and almond flour in our healthy cake shop. There are many other gluten-free options available on the market, however, almond and oat flour are the most common ones.
Aside from flour, some other ingredients may contain gluten, so always be sure to check the back of the package for a “may contain gluten” or “contains gluten” label before using.
